Journey to Bethlehem has been an effective ministry tool for Harvester for 26 years! Now it’s time for us to look beyond Journey to Bethlehem to pursue new ways to reach St. Charles County with the gospel of Jesus. We hope you’ll invest in what God has for us in the future!
Frequently Asked Questions
- Why wouldn’t we do Journey this year?
With COVID still playing a factor, we believe it would not be wise or prudent to have a large event this year. We cannot effectively gather people together, stay safe and do it well enough to maintain the Journey experience. We also anticipate the potential of pouring all the resources in and having to cancel if cast members got sick and had to quarantine.
- Why wouldn’t we do Journey in the future?
With the canceling of two years due to the pandemic, it would be three years between events. This seemed like the best time to evaluate new ways to reach our city with the gospel. In the almost 30 years since Journey to Bethlehem started, our church and county has changed a lot! We believe it’s time to find new ways to make a huge difference and unleash the love of Jesus into our city.
- What are we doing instead?
We are praying about new ways to reach the city! For now, a large portion of the finances we would have used to put on Journey we are investing into our city. As always, we have our Christmas weekend to invite and look forward to! We hope you take the opportunity to use this weekend to be invitational to family and friends in the same way you invited to Journey to Bethlehem. We are also looking forward to continuing to upkeep the Journey trail for reflection and prayer.
We are asking this question moving forward: What is the need in our city and how will God use us to answer it?
- What can I do now?
We hope you pray with us for the future! Join us in praying God would show us where there is a need in our city, and then point us in that direction to meet it. Pray for open doors and opportunity.
