Groups
Becoming Like Jesus through Community
What are Harvester groups?
A Harvester Group is a group of two or more people joining together around a common purpose.
Harvester Groups typically fall into one of three main kinds of groups, and each of these group types differs in their emphasized purpose for forming as well as how long they meet.
-
Community groups
Community groups form around a relational emphasis & meet on an ongoing basis.
-
Courses
Courses form around an informational emphasis & meet on a limited basis.
-
Practices
Practices form around an experiential emphasis & meet on a limited basis.
Community Groups
Community Groups form for the primary purpose of relationships. Generally, the same people stick together, while the content of their meetings, studies, and discussions are what changes. At Harvester, we have two ways to get connected to a community group.
NEW COMMUNITY GROUPS
New Community Groups are formed twice a year at Connection Space, a 3-week opportunity designed to help you find the right relational community for you and to give you the resources you need to form and run your new group.
OPEN COMMUNITY GROUPS
Open Community Groups are larger groups, open for you to join at any time. Most of these groups meet on campus and form around relationships with people of similar age, gender, life stage, etc.
Courses
Courses form for the primary purpose of learning together. Courses have specific start and stop dates and do not stay together indefinitely.
Practices
Practices form for the primary purpose of experientially exploring different practices that help deepen our relationships with Jesus. Like Courses, the Practices have specific start and stop dates and do not stay together indefinitely. However, unlike Courses, the purpose of these groups is to experience the practices, not just learn about them.
